Draining pavements for streets and squares in stone. Thus the water returns to the earth.... But are design and installation enough?
Description
Due to periods of heavy rainfall and prolonged droughts that we have been experiencing in recent years, the contribution of stone draining pavements for the sustainable management of rainwater in urban and non-urban contexts is becoming increasingly important. These advantageous and easily implementabl laying systems for roads and squares allow water to infiltrate the ground, reducing the risk of flooding and contributing to groundwater replenishment. The presentation will discuss in detail the design criteria and laying techniques, highlighting how both aspects are crucial for the success of draining pavements. However, it will also explore the need to consider additional factors, such as maintenance, material selection, and integration with the urban environment, to ensure maximum effectiveness and durability over time. The goal is to provide a thorough and practical analysis aimed at designers, engineers, and industry professionals, offering tools and knowledge to create efficient and sustainable draining pavements.
