Stone materials in civil engineering projects: petrographic-physical-mechanical characterization tests in relation to intended uses and reference standards
Description
The use of stone materials in civil engineering projects has progressively changed, moving towards thinner slabs. However, this trend highlights the importance of accurate petrographic-physical-mechanical characterization of the stone materials that will be used, in order to ensure their correct utilization and, consequently, avoid unpleasant surprises. Therefore, the intervention will focus on characterization tests, interpretation of the resulting data, monitoring campaigns during project implementation, and the various internationally recognized testing methodologies that govern the field.
