Advanced research and lithic experimentation

Description

No ancient nor modern materials can ever be found in architecture since it is the way materials are used and shaped that links them to a particular time. This premise is the key to understand the meaning to the design actions presented within the Marmomac Meets Academies 2023 exhibition, in the wider cultural space of Marmomac. Prototypes are the real protagonists of the exhibition and they’re able to explain themselves and the research work they hold thanks to their own concreteness and plastic evidence. The exhibition space is square-shaped and it consists of a large "suspended vault" made up of lithic elements that is located above the various prototype solutions built by different universities. Many topics are covered and all of them are linked to the eco-conscious use of the precious lithic material, from the use of thin stone to recomposed stone, from 3D printed stone to structurally optimized stone.
